
Life Skills
This course covers a range of learning activities that will focus on assisting individuals with an intellectual disability via a range of practical and social skills. There will be an underlying theme of health and wellbeing, delivered via activities that focus on building literacy and numeracy skills in everyday life.
Topics include goal setting, making decisions, teamwork, basic technology skills, money handling, exercise and nutrition, internet safety, shopping online for groceries and using Google Maps for travelling.
Literacy & Numeracy
The course enables learners to become competent in reading, writing, speaking, problem solving and mathematical thinking all of which are critical skills for success in both academic and real life contexts.
Better Reading & Writing
Learners will be able to gain the skills and knowledge needed to be better at communicating, reading, writing and accessing digital materials in various contexts in both the learning environment and within their everyday lives in this 40-week program. The primary focus will be on literacy, language and digital literacy which includes reading, understanding and responding to everyday contexts, simple online shopping and accessing online learning tools and activities.
Early Childhood Education & Care
Learners will be able to develop literacy and numeracy skills to increase chances of employment or further study within the early childhood education sector in this 20-week program. This module acts as a stepping stone and a platform to provide learners with the essential vocabulary and knowledge needed to further explore the educational and vocational pathways in the early childhood education sector.
